The intake manifold gasket is a large metal sheet that completely covers the valley of the engine, in addition to the intake ports. I assume that's what you are talking about (the link doesn't work, BTW.) The shield that is attached to the bottom of the manifold is different ... I have seen people cement them, put on the seal rings from Cummins, and the anti slobber packing seems to work the best in my opinion. You have to tighten it up once and a while, and replace the packing, when it gets burnt out.
